BIRM MEDIA ( IRON & MANGANESE REMOVAL)

BIRM acts as a catalyst, helping convert dissolved iron and manganese into solid particles that can be filtered out. It does not absorb them – it just helps the reaction happen faster.

Applications:

• Home water filtration systems (for well water)

• Industrial water treatment

• Irrigation systems

• Pretreatment for reverse osmosis systems

• Small water treatment plants

 Notes:

• Requires oxygen in the water to work (no oxygen = no iron removal)

• Not suitable for water with high hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg smell)

• Needs regular backwashing to prevent clogging
